UNE supports INKplant consortium in transferring the new solutions into new standards to realize the future of regenerative medicine
The non-profit company integrates standardization and innovation, helping INKplant increase the quality of life for Europe’s elderly
Founded in 1986, the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) is legally designated as the National Standardization Body of Spain. It is the national representative and member of the European (CEN/CENELEC), International (ISO/IEC) and Panamerican (COPANT) Organizations for Standardization, and a member of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). With over 30 years of experience, UNE has made significant contributions to the development of technical standards, enhancing industries and fostering innovation.
UNE is a non profit-making, private, independent and multisectoral organisation, recognised at National, European and International level. As standardization body, UNE is the national representative and member of the European (CEN and CENELEC), International (ISO and IEC) and Panamerican (COPANT) Standards Organizations, and member of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). More than 30000 standards in catalogue, 200 national standardization committees and 150 responsibilities (chairpersons, secretariats, convenors) in international standardization committees are a sample of the experience gained as national standardization body.
UNE is participating in many Research and Innovation projects (Horizon 2020, FP7, Life+, CIP etc., see examples here) representing the European Standardization Organizations CEN and CENELEC to support and manage the integration of standardization in those projects, fostering the dissemination of their results to the relevant European stakeholders and facilitating their introduction into the market. It is also an active member of the CEN-CENELEC Strategic Group ‘STAIR’ (Standardization, Innovation and Research), which develops the guidelines for the practical integration of standardization and research.
As a member of the European/International standardization system, UNE enjoys full access to a comprehensive internal information infrastructure. This invaluable resource enables UNE to effectively and efficiently fulfil INKplant project tasks, supporting innovation and driving progress.
